Loving the Love in Vein

Thankfully my track record of having successful shoots wasn't going to end any time soon. One day after shooting Going Places (which I worked) we were straight into Love in Vein. Thankfully, the crew are some of my best friends. I couldn't manage my portion of pre-production by myself but director Phil and producer Johanna were happy to help me out.

I'm very glad we made this film, I think it looks great on my show reel because of the bright colours which we used. I've seen the edit progress and it's fantastic, I can't wait to share it.

Phillip Brown is an absolute legend. I've had the pleasure of working with him since first year. Every film we make together is better than the last and this was no exception. Phil is a very visual director and great to work with. Hr knows everything. Likewise with Hayden. Hayden was my first friend at film school, watching him grow into a camera wizard has been great. It's the same story with my bestie Lauren, she dressed the actors and the set professionally and it was amazing. Notably, James D did  a a great job lighting the film in its cartoon style. But I think the shoot MVP was the producer Johanna, was was calm (for the most part), friendly and got things done. Unfortunately, on the second day of shooting Johanna got into a car accident and couldn't make it to the shoot. I tried my hardest not to panic as I took over as the full head of set. It wasn't easy as I'd lost my partner in crime but I think the day went smoothly.

I highly doubt this is going to be the last time I a work with this professional and efficient crew because we've made so many films before. I am however, counting down the days.

Thanks for reading.
